AMETS TAKES ON A NEW TECHNOLOGICAL CHALLENGE BY INTEGRATING GENERATIVE AI INTO CNC PROGRAMMING

AMETS is undertaking a new R&D project under the name DIAGONAL, whose objective is to develop a solution based on generative artificial intelligence for the automatic generation of CNC code from 2D manufacturing drawings.

The project seeks to advance the automation and digitalization of machining processes, reducing programming times and improving production efficiency.

To date, the progress achieved confirms the technical feasibility of the proposed approach, although the project faces significant technological challenges, such as the automatic recognition of 2D drawings and the reliable generation of CNC code adapted to each machine and machining process.

The results obtained in the first phase are satisfactory, and AMETS will continue working to consolidate the solution and move towards its application in real industrial environments, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in the field of advanced machining.

WE IMPROVE OUR PRODUCTION PROCESS WITH THE INSTALLATION OF A NEW MACHINE

In AMETS we have a policy of continuous improvement that leads us to constantly incorporate equipment and machines with the latest technological innovations in our production processes. This means that our facilities are always at the forefront of technology in the sector, as evidenced by our latest incorporation to the machinery park in order to offer our customers a better response in time and form.

For the precision components manufacturing section, we incorporated a Soraluce milling machine with mobile column, model FA-40, with longitudinal course of 4,000 mm and automatic orthogonal head.

With this incorporation AMETS’ production capacity is increased by the reach of the vertical and transverse axes with application in voluminous parts and heavier machining, which will certainly result in a more agile production.

Technology advances very quickly and Amets is ready to be updated!

AMETS COMPLETES ITS SUCCESSFUL PARTICIPATION IN BIEMH 2024

The Bilbao Exhibition Centre hosted 1,422 brands at the international reference meeting for the universe of Machine Tools and Advanced Manufacturing, that AMETS did not want to miss.

As exhibitors at the BIEMH, we have had the opportunity to interact with customers and suppliers, as well as to meet more industry professionals with whom we have been able to share our vision of the future. We close an intense week but very satisfied with the experience and the feedback received in this edition more innovative, technological and dynamic than ever.

Thanks to AFM Cluster for their collaboration, giving us visibility and making it possible in this kind of events for companies like AMETS. We also want to thank all the people who have come forward interested in what we do, suppliers, customers and thanks to our team for their great effort.

IS SUSTAINABLE MACHINING POSSIBLE FOR THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY OF THE FUTURE?

AMETS is implementing a new R&D project “BERMEK” whose main objective is to address the environmental transition through a new concept of “sustainable workshop” that takes into account the environmental impact of its processes.

The BERMEK project aims to reduce the carbon impact of the machining process by applying GREEN MANUFACTURIN concepts through the complete elimination of toxic cutting oils and dangerous refrigerants. The implementation of this integral solution for machining processes with CO2 and MQL will allow the transformation of traditional machining processes into more sustainable, healthy and competitive ones.

After validation testing, the results obtained have been revelatory. Using the BeCold system in the machining of plastics, the chips generated are significantly shorter, even eliminating burrs in some processes. On the other hand, in super duplex machining, tool fatigue is much less pronounced, maximizing the life cycle of the cutting tools.

The future lies in innovating our processes, another step towards eco-efficiency.

AMETS PRODUCTIVE PROCESS MORE SUSTAINABLE THROUGH PHOTOVOLTAIC INSTALLATION

With the aim of taking a giant step towards the sustainability of our production process, in Amets we already have 250 photovoltaic modules installed. This will allow us to generate 115,763 kWh per year, which will mean an annual saving of 45.84 tons of CO2 emissions.

Electric power is essential in the machining world and through this project, more than 58% of our production will be obtained from renewable energy. This has been an important step toward energy transition and our environmental commitment.

Harnessing the inexhaustible Energy of the sun to make our production process more sustainable.

ANOTHER STEP FOR EQUALITY

The AMETS commitment to gender equality was recognized on November 25 at ´Laudio Group Berdintasuna´ conference where, in addition, a grant was presented to facilitate women’s access in the industrial field.

For this reason, our CEO Alazne Aldaiturriaga García has participated as speaker at the conference of gender equality at industrial companies of Llodio. In AMETS we believe in an increasingly just society in which there are equal opportunities. For this reason, we are developing our Equality Plan.
