In this case, we have added our second machining centre from Soraluce. This is a fixed-bed milling machine, model TA25, which will enable us to continue providing our customers with a faster and more efficient response.

Compared with the machine it replaces, this new addition represents a significant increase in production capacity, expanding our working dimensions from 2,000 x 900 x 1,000 mm to a new capacity of 2,500 x 1,500 x 1,200 mm. This allows us to undertake the machining of larger components and more demanding projects.

With this investment, we continue to focus on continuous improvement, technological innovation and providing a better service to our customer companies.

The solution, developed by Tecnalia in collaboration with AMETS, enables the fast and accurate identification of drawings with similar geometric features, transforming the company’s database into an intelligent repository of reusable knowledge. This tool helps streamline different stages of the production process, improving efficiency and decision making.

The innovative nature of this initiative has been recognised by various organisations and reinforces AMETS’s commitment to digital transformation, continuous improvement and technological advancement within the industrial sector.

By joining this initiative, we are strengthening our commitment to promoting the Basque language and developing actions that help progressively increase its presence in our working environment.

The project seeks to advance the automation and digitalization of machining processes, reducing programming times and improving production efficiency.

To date, the progress achieved confirms the technical feasibility of the proposed approach, although the project faces significant technological challenges, such as the automatic recognition of 2D drawings and the reliable generation of CNC code adapted to each machine and machining process.

The results obtained in the first phase are satisfactory, and AMETS will continue working to consolidate the solution and move towards its application in real industrial environments, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in the field of advanced machining.

For the precision components manufacturing section, we incorporated a Soraluce milling machine with mobile column, model FA-40, with longitudinal course of 4,000 mm and automatic orthogonal head.

With this incorporation AMETS’ production capacity is increased by the reach of the vertical and transverse axes with application in voluminous parts and heavier machining, which will certainly result in a more agile production.

Technology advances very quickly and Amets is ready to be updated!

As exhibitors at the BIEMH, we have had the opportunity to interact with customers and suppliers, as well as to meet more industry professionals with whom we have been able to share our vision of the future. We close an intense week but very satisfied with the experience and the feedback received in this edition more innovative, technological and dynamic than ever.

The BERMEK project aims to reduce the carbon impact of the machining process by applying GREEN MANUFACTURIN concepts through the complete elimination of toxic cutting oils and dangerous refrigerants. The implementation of this integral solution for machining processes with CO2 and MQL will allow the transformation of traditional machining processes into more sustainable, healthy and competitive ones.

After validation testing, the results obtained have been revelatory. Using the BeCold system in the machining of plastics, the chips generated are significantly shorter, even eliminating burrs in some processes. On the other hand, in super duplex machining, tool fatigue is much less pronounced, maximizing the life cycle of the cutting tools.

The future lies in innovating our processes, another step towards eco-efficiency.
